Senior Project Manager - International Railway Projects (f/m)

As a project manager for our international customers, you have the commercial responsibility for delivering a comprehensive solution. Your challenge is to address a large number of stakeholders’ needs, such as local railway authorities, experts, and partners in a wide variety of contractual relationships while also managing the available resources in a complex matrix organization.

Your challenge:

  • Main interface to the customer, active communication and negotiation with the customer

  • Management, coordination and motivation of the project team

  • Project scheduling (WBS structure)

  • Project documentation

  • Resources allocation and tracking

  • Costs/sales/cash tracking

  • Thorough and continuous risk management, ensuring that all risks and opportunities are properly addressed and mitigated

  • Coordination and management of subcontractors including intra-group suppliers

  • Ensure that project reporting is performed and report consolidated results periodically in a matrix organization

Your profile:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in managing international, customer-facing turnkey projects

  • Experience in construction, civil engineering, or large-scale infrastructure projects is of particular interest

  • Completed academic education (preferably university level) in business or a technical field

  • Excellent knowledge of project management tools and methods (PMI, IPMA or similar certification preferred)

  • Demonstrated success in managing the entire lifecycle of turnkey, long-term (3-5 years) and customer-facing projects.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions under pressure

  • High level of flexibility and a proactive attitude

  • Outstanding organizational skills and strong management skills and leadership

  • Experience with public-sector projects is an advantage

  • Ability to work, communicate and interface effectively in an intercultural environment with customers, partners and employees

  • An excellent command of English is a must. Knowledge of German is an advantage.

  • Occasional European and international travel required

  • The legal minimum remuneration for this position is 59.808 g.p.a (IT KV). A significant overpayment based on experience and qualification is expected.
