Thales fournit des systèmes de commande de trains par télécommunications (CBTC) et des systèmes d’enclenchement destinés au secteur des transports en commun sur voie ferrée à l'échelle mondiale. Le centre de compétences pour la signalisation ferroviaire urbaine est situé au centre-ville de Toronto. Nous sommes le plus grand bureau situé au Canada et nous disposons d’un service pour chaque étape du cycle de vie du développement logiciel (SDLC). Cela comprend le logiciel, le matériel, la conception des systèmes, la vérification et la validation, les opérations, etc. Les équipes de services partagés dans les domaines des finances, des ressources humaines et des technologies de l’information sont également situées sur ce site. This includes Software, Hardware, Systems Design, Verification & Validation, Operations, etc. The supporting corporate shared services teams in Finance, Human Resources and IT is also located at the office. We currently have an 8 month internship position available in our Industrialization and Procurement Department.  This position will allow you to get in touch with the exciting world of urban transit.  In this position you will be able to be a part of the processes utilized when developing products in an engineering environment.   You will improve your understanding of systems and electrical design, key component characteristics and their application in rail designs.   You will be a member of a group making significant procurement and strategic decisions in an outsourcing environment.  Your technical and database development skills will help us reduce the number of technical issues raised by our contract manufactures and improve communication flow.   Your analyses will become inputs into the procurement decision-making process.

Key Accountabilities

  • Development, maintenance and improvement of different data collection systems using applications which include MS Excel, MS Access and SAP.

  • Improvement and automation of metrics generation tools using SAP and Excel.

  • Coordinate forecast management processes working with Project Procurement team, Supply Chain Organization and input the data in SAP

  • Generate component forecast to support last time buy activities

  • The incumbent will be responsible for providing assistance where necessary in order to support the existing team of the Project Procurement Managers, Supply Chain and/or Materials Management group.

  • Become knowledgeable about existing company purchasing and logistical policies/procedures and day to day practices with regards to procurements, materials management and logistics

  • Review databases within MRP Master Data information records for completeness and purchase requisition. Generate and distribute weekly open PR report in collaboration with the PPM and tactical buyer team

  • Liaise on a regular basis with the PPM, tactical buyers and PSCLs to understand the needs of Procurement, Supply base and constraints to ensure that PR planning is geared up to the Project needs.

  • Provide weekly support to review Logistics invoices and allocate them to the Project /WBS

  • Manage several minor projects and work closely with other functional departments as necessary to insure successful completion.

Key Requirements

  • Ability to make decisions quickly and logically

  • Effectively manage conflicting requirements/demands

  • Ability to work independently, resourcefully and effectively within a team  environment

  • Good communication skills, oral and written

  • Strong experience with Excel, MS Office Suite
