System Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a System Reliability Engineer to join Guavus, a Thales company. Position can be remote and therefore located anywhere in the US. Main travel will be to San Jose/ San Francisco, California

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install software in local and/or customer operated labs

  • Test software delivered by engineering to the SRE team

  • Automate deployment of the software

  • Perform ATP of the software before deployment

  • Deploy software across large clusters

  • Deploy software across large number of data centers

  • Monitor and support software on a daily basis

  • Troubleshoot software internally and with customers

  • Occasionally assist customer in troubleshooting their applications

  • Advise in software architecture process

  • Work closely with engineering to manage escalations when they occur

  • Communicate with customer using established support channels

  • Perform outside business hours work on a regular basis

  • Provide leadership in problem-solving, including proposing and discussing fixes, advising and educating customers 

  • Liaise with engineering to drive product fixes

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the product and all it’s components

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Intermediate Ansible and shell scripting abilities

  • Proven Kubernetes and Kafka experience

  • 3+ years networking experience

  • 3+ years experience deploying complex software, preferablyin the Wireless or Telecom domain. 

  • Functional knowledge of server hardware and storage

  • Must have completed minimum one project end-to-end in a technical System Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer or Deployment Engineer role

  • Travel occasionally (10%)

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

  • Certification in Cloud e.g. AWS/Microsoft Azure

  • Understanding of support processes, KPIs & SLA management

  • Ability to handle escalations and drive customer communications on daily basis

  • Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with customers, third-party vendors, and partners
