Hardware Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) in full or part time

for our activities in the field of transportation at our headquarters in Ditzingen near Stuttgart

You will enjoy having this responsibility:

Thales Transportation Systems is looking for hardware mechanical designer to strengthen the hardware & embedded middleware meta competence center team. Experience in the field of mechanical design is welcome, but beginners are also welcome. The area of responsibility includes the design and documentation of mechanical devices for safety-critical systems

It also involves the following tasks:

  • Manufacturing and cost-oriented mechanical construction of housings, assemblies and complete devices for rail signaling products
  • Installation of prototypes at the customer
  • Development of solutions for outdoor use of rail-specific components
  • Creation of 3D CAD models in Creo and parts lists for manufacturing and assembly
  • Selection and use of materials and standard components available on the market
  • Creation of installation and maintenance manuals
  • Accompanying the projects from concept to production in close coordination with the adjacent areas

You have:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional profile
  • Experience in mechanical design 3 - 5 years
  • Systematics in the construction creation
  • Experience in strength analysis
  • CAD user knowledge, Creo advantageous will be an advantage
  • Experience in thermal analysis, shock and vibration will be an advantage
  • Experience in Prototyping and prototype testing
  • Customer-oriented, cost-conscious and structured way of working
  • High ability to work in a team and enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Team work, Flexibility, Highly organized
  • Good level in German and English language
