The SQLstream Product Owner located in San Jose, CA, manages several SQLstream platform adoption initiatives across Thales that includes Innersource, the Thales Digital Platform and KAST, the Thales SIX business unit software platform. The SQLstream Product Owner is directly responsible for content and support web applications, working outside of the Guavus organization with counterparts at TISS, TDF, and SIX (see link below) and working inside the Guavus organization to align executive management, engineering, customer success, and business development to make the push into Innersource, TDP, and KAST successful.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential function and key areas of responsibility for the SQLstream Product Owner include:

  • Managing the SQLstream platform adoption initiatives across Thales.  SQLstream provides a processing data paradigm that enables applications to analyze and act in real time to each and every event while processing very large volumes of continuously streaming data.

  • Develop, manage, and enhance the Thales internal web site that makes SQLstream available to the community of 1000s of Thales developers by downloading and issuing licenses for SQLstream on TDP, KAST, Docker, VMware, Virtual Box, Hyper-V, Parallels, AWS, Azure, and bare metal, the auto-provisioning of SQLstream on the Thales Digital Platform (a cloud service), providing rich content explaining SQLstream, and the staging of SQLstream documentation.

  • Develop, manage, and enhance high level messaging, content, the software delivery function for for use outside of Thales.

  • Develop, enhance, and package sample SQLstream applications called StreamApps.

  • Provide customer facing demonstrations of SQLstream technology, including the development of simple StreamApps in minutes using StreamLab, the SQLstream Integrated Development Environment (IDE).

  • Must have the ability to become an expert at StreamLab by driving the vision for changes and improvements into the product development process.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science

  • At least 3 years of leadership experience within a technical matrix environment- directing resources that are members of other departments

  • 3 or more years of experience in software development for web applications that are used by 1000’s of users

  • At least 3 years of hands on experience in SQL development and queries

  • Prior experience in technical, complex product development

  • Prior experience communicating technical information and concepts to different audiences in a variety of formats.

  • Excellent team player with proven ability to accomplish goals thorough collaboration

  • Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity, with only high-level direction.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience with data streaming products

  • Previous experience in product management balancing the needs of internal and external customers

  • A strategic problem solver with strong communication and presentation abilities. You can distill complex information into easy-to-understand concepts.

  • Influence on how senior leaders across an organization reason around problems, opportunities, and products.

  • Consistent record of taking new services to market and driving major impact.

  • You know what makes a great experience for our users and love partnering with design, insights and engineering to turn a vision into reality.

  • Highly adaptable and able to pivot in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Thrives in a complex environment
