Moreover, it is Thales’ hope to further enhance the system with the latest technologies, like mobile phone and account-based functionalities.

Configuration Management Officer

Do you want to ensure the release process in one of the largest and most unique projects in Denmark influencing millions of people? Are you willing to go the extra mile to ensure the project’s targets? Then you maybe are our new Configuration Manager.

You have here the chance to be a part of one of the largest Railway Projects in Denmark – a project with a highly complex infrastructure, as we are looking for a person with experience within Configuration Management to join our project within the Global Business Unit, Main Line Signalling. You will, as Configuration Manager, join the Project Management Office in Thales Denmark A/S, located in Søborg. You will in this position refer directly to the Solution Engineering Manager.

The project

Thales Denmark A/S, with its partners, has been tasked by BDK to upgrade the railway signalling system in Jutland to an IT-based signalling system. The project consists of an update of approx. 1,200 km of the Danish railway network for the new European Train Control System (ETCS Level 2). We are strengthening our Customer Service team with an additional specialist for (Railway) Cyber-Security and Railway Network maintenance.

The position

As part of the Engineering Team within the Project organisation, your main tasks will be to:

  • Participate in the analysis of contractual requirements for Configuration Management (in the bid and project phases).

  • Tailor the Organisation Configuration Management system and customer requirements for the project and transcribe them into a Configuration Management Plan, implement the provisions of the Configuration Management Plan and make sure they are followed.

  • Ensure the application of Configuration Management requirements (SOW, etc.) with subcontractors and suppliers, and also ensure the follow-up of configuration management requirements

  • Participate, with respect to the criteria, in the selection of Configuration Items selected for configuration monitoring

  • Participate in the phase reviews (PDR, CDR, etc) and in configuration audits (FCA and PCA) 

Also, you will:

  • Create and maintain a configuration management plan and product breakdown in line with the Solution Engineering Management Plan

  • Define and improve the configuration process in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001

  • Control configuration management during process gates

  • Support of the different teams of the F-Bane to follow the configuration management plan

  • Synchronise configuration framework with Thales in Germany and our sub-suppliers

  • Report on different configuration status for deliveries

  • Liaise with our customers configuration and project representatives

  • Prepare and chair the bilateral configuration control board with Banedanmark

  • Obsolescence management aligned with Thales in Germany and our Customer Service Team

  • License and certificate Management for the F-bane project aligned with Backoffice and security interfaces

The position is located in Søborg but will move to Ballerup in July 2021. Short travels to Jutland as well as to the customers locations in Copenhagen are to be expected.

Your qualifications

As Configuration Manager you are expected to be able to navigate in an international large-size organization and ensure a high quality of release delivery in compliance with Thales Group policies.

Further we expect that you are compliant with the following:

  • Experience with Configuration Management related assignments and project related work

  • Good planning skills

  • An open mind-set, with a sharing and team-oriented approach

  • Quality minded, with focus on data quality and version control

  • Proficient in Microsoft office, Word, Excel

  • Preferred profile has an engineering or other relevant academic background

  • Danish fluency (native or on a professional level) and English on a professional level are required
