Payload System Engineer

The Payload System Engineer contributes to the activity within the frame of programmes and studies undertaken by the uW and Data Handling Payloads Unit as Payload System Engineer

Task description:

  • In the frame of the design phases to support the definition of P/L functional and performance requirements performing the required analysis and assessment.
  • Definition, implementation and maintenance of models and software tools for simulating the P/L functionalities and main performances.
  • Definition, implementation and maintenance of P/L RF budgets.
  • Definition of P/L command and control interface.
  • Definition, implementation and maintenance of P/L related Link Budgets as applicable.
  • Contribution to definition of Payloads architecture.
  • Definition, implementation and maintenance of P/L I/F and budgets.
  • Support to P/L equipment and assembly, internal and external supplier technical monitoring and relevant review attendance.
  • In the frame of the verification and validation phases of the programme, assessing/evaluating P/L functionalities and performance on the basis of test results.
  • To support as P/L System and Verification engineer the relevant AIT campaign as applicable.
  • Participation to meetings/reviews with both internal and external customers
  • Preparation of documents and presentations.
  • Contribution to programme reports and minutes of meetings

Personal requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Electronic/Telecommunication Engineering
  • Background in the field of communication systems, with focus on space applications
  • Knowledge of digital and RF electronic
  • Knowledge of electrical communication I/F and protocols
  • Knowledge of Matlab, MS Office products.
  • Programming language (e.g. C, Visual Basic)
  • Knowledge of the English language for both written and verbal communication.
