About the team
An excellent opportunity has arisen for the role of Product Safety Engineer in the Thales UK Optronics & Missile Electronics (OME) organisation. This role will directly contribute to the on-going development of the Land, Naval and Air product and systems. You will work and collaborate with a diverse team of technical specialists with opportunity to work across a variety of products in the design, development and management of complex systems. You will also get the opportunity to collaborate with teams within the wider Business Unit and UK operations, providing a significant amount of opportunity for career progression and development.
We have an impactful and exciting opportunity for a Product Safety Engineer for Thales UK. The role requires someone with a confident, professional background across Systems Engineering, who can help support the business as it evolves.
We are looking for a talented individual who can take on a fast paced and varied role, working as a team, you your primary purpose of this role is to identify to the Safety Authority any concerns regarding the safety of a product, or the application of policies and processes.
The Successful individual will generate safety artefacts required to support the product safety argument, such as Safety & Environmental Management Plans, Hazard Logs and Safety & Environmental Case Reports.
You will multi-task and prioritise without the requirement for regular direct supervision. You’ll have the ability to establish and meet deadlines. A proactive individual with excellent communication skills who can engage with all levels of stakeholders.
You will have the capability to work as a team player and take a calm, logical approach when reacting to the challenges we face, have the skill to work as a team player, able to listen, discuss solutions with other members of the team and have the willingness to learn.
With experience or formal qualification in Engineering, your extensive knowledge to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with high attention to detail will have covered fast paced and complex environments. Having Industry understanding or experience of the military, defence or maritime industries would be desirable.
