We are looking for a Railway Systems Integration Engineer to integrate our Railway Signalling Project team, working in a global project with a high level of complexity and key to the future endeavours for the Ground Transportation Systems domain.

Your life as a Railway Systems Integration Engineer

As a Railway Systems Integration Engineer you will be responsible to carry out the adaptation of Thales interlocking systems in turn-key projects for national and international customers. You will be a key part of Thales's key technical specialist team located in Paço de Arcos, Portugal. Your work will involve solving complex technical issues, assisting with expertise in ongoing projects, be responsible for deploying, testing, integrating different system solutions in technical projects, responding to customer needs, and ensuring best practices within Thales Signalling Systems. Yor main tasks and responsabilities will be:

  • Providing verification test specification and perform integration tests;

  • Integrating, testing and verifying interlocking system functions to meet the customer requirements;

  • Actively contribute in knowledge transfer with the possibility of coaching other signal engineers and installers in the specific field;

  • Providing support for the project activities;

  • Reviewing and approval of documents/drawings;

  • Working closely swith Thales internationally to tailor solutions and ensure implementation of our systems according to national regulations;

  • Developing and propose innovative solutions to meet customer requirements in relevant areas

About you

  • You own a relevant degree in Electrotechnical Engineering Degree or Equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience;

  • Awareness of safety critical systems based in CENELEC standards (50126/50128/50129);

  • Desired experience in railway systems development;

  • Desired knowledge in computer networking design and configuration;

  • Knowledge of Petri net/PLC/Ladder Logic is a plus;

  • SW development skills (Python/Scripting);

  • Ease of handling operating systems, install and configure Windows and Linux.

  • Basic handling of electronical devices: circuit boards, relays, wiring;

  • Knowledge of relevant tools, methods and methodology in the field;

  • Comfortable with a highly dynamic and changing work environment;

  • Willingness for international travel for short term missions;

  • Fluency in English, both orally and in writing. Portuguese fluency is a plus.
