The Solution Architects Manager in Ottawa will lead the solution architects team. The team works on providing strategic direction of technology solutions to continue growing Identity & Access Management. The ideal candidate will be play a key role in identifying & capturing business requirements and converting those into technological design elements while ensuring alignment between customer expectations and current product capabilities. It will require leadership and communication skills to allow guiding a team of highly qualified individuals and rallying them around a common vision. This vision will also be communicated to the rest of Engineering and product teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of highly skilled architects with proven deliverable track record.

  • Build & share a vision for how our IAM solution is going to evolve

  • Interact with business stakeholder to gather business requirements, produce technical specifications, designs architectures, POCs, and ultimately handover to scrum teams to deliver.

  • Lead the architecture group in defining priorities for PI planning and PI commitments

  • Guide teams to develop high-quality code that is maintainable, structured, highly organized and self-documenting & usage of Code optimization techniques.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience working with leading Identity & Access Management solutions

  • 10 years of experience in designing and developing complex software solutions using .NET AND/OR java. Ability & willingness to learn the other if experienced in one and not the other.

  • 5+ years of experience designing Micro services, distributed systems & web-based software utilizing a modern web framework (angular, react, etc.), noSQL databases (MongoDb, etc), RDBMS (SQLServer, MySQL, Postgres, etc).

  • 10+ years of experience interacting with web protocols, architectures, infrastructure, servers (IIS), proxies, load balancing and high availability, etc.

  • 5+ year working on any one cloud platform (GCP is preferred) with deep dive hands-on experience involving PaaS experience like ECS, EKS, GKE, RDS, etc.

  • 5+ years hands-on experience on defining the architecture blueprints along with techniques to validate the design

  • Working knowledge with

    • UML and sequence diagrams

    • Test Driven Development, Agile/Scrum

    • Standard Web Services (SOAP), REST, Json

    • Core web architecture concepts

  • Proven track record of leading a team of highly skilled individuals

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Clear ability to define/articulate the NFRs (non-functional requirements) and translate service requirement to technical design elements

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with OOP Concepts, Design Patterns and Design Principles (SOLID etc.)

  • Experience with Any NoSQL DB, ElasticSearch

  • Knowledge of performance engineering and web security best practices

  • Knowledge of implementing event driven architecture solution using Messaging platforms like RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS, Kafka, etc.

  • Good understanding of Front End Technologies Angular 6+, JavaScript, TypeScript.

  • Experience working with complex, high-transactional products is highly desirable.

  • Hands-on experience with transformation of a monolith to microservices architecture

  • Experience with SAFe Agile.
