    • Experienced in handling Test strategy for multiple products line.

      • Included Software as services

      • Understanding of Automation frameworks

      • Ideally exposure to development tools/ white box testing.

  • Role:

    • Test Strategy

      • Test layering (unit tests/component tests/E2E tests).

      • Clear guidelines specifying which aspects are handled by these layers.

      • Functional vs. nonfunctional validations

      • Must have good clarity on developers unit tests techniques (and preferably also hands on experience with development and unit tests work)  to have a clear and efficient way of covering story implementation aspects through all test layers (including unit tests).

      • Set quality bar for QA work (e.g. TCs review, automation code review).

    • Test Efficiency

      • Conduct field research to choose testing tools.

      • Testing efficiency e.g. functionality via REST services, UI controls and behavior with UI suite

      • Mocking strategies

        • Mocking enforcements level and other components for the same.

      • Clear guidelines on the way totests should be implemented (e.g. mimic user behavior when handling ui, common code).

    • Industry Best practices

      • Bring Validation best practices from industry to improve quality with similar cost structure.

      • Proposed new validation practices

      • Continuously improving testing methodology, best practices, and standards to provide consistent testing across products

    • Feedback on improvement on test processes.

      • Define and refine matrices to track progress on validation.

      • Work with existing stakeholders to refine DOD.

  • Stretching scope

    • Improve overall engineering quality aspects (e.g. design reviews).

  • Operational model

    • Challenges

      • Architects are working at feature level to design/groom stories and they handle few teams at a time.

      • Validation architect will be single person, he/she cannot work at same level of granularity.

      • He/She will need to understand product/solution as good level to really add value at test strategy level.

    • Proposed model

      • Starts with one part of solution – services offering

        • EMS/SCL

      • Understand the current test processes , validation practices

      • Understand Tools being used.

      • Identify missing tools and procedures on QA tasks and work to cover those (e.g. test cases management).

      • Identifies the possible hot spots.

      • Comes up with a proposal to improve things

        • Based on industry best practices

        • Pain / Problem points.

      • Works with set of scrum team

        • Create an improvement plan to cover gaps and push tasks into SCRUM team sprints.

        • Define how to monitor progress

          • Implementation

          • Customer impact.

      • Once we have defined guidelines for one team – we extend focus to next set of teams.
