We have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Manager to join Thales Six to support the EDF Nuclear Power Station in Lancaster with their data processing and control systems.
You will be the key interface with EDF Engineers to ensure effective control of work allocation and support issues for service provisions, as well as being responsible for ensuring the subcontractors deliver the right solutions at the right time to the right quality.
You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to provide the development and support of the legacy data processing and control systems. Providing technical expertise and advice on development issues and problems with the on-site systems. You will also be responsible for the development lifecycle, which includes quality assurance, integration, verification testing and configuration.
This role offers the opportunity to work very closely with the customer where you will build strong, lasting relationships and where you will manage, support and influence the customer.
You will be working closely with the Portfolio Engineering Manager, Engineering Teams,
Project Management, Supply Chain SME, Suppliers, Contractors and the Customers Engineering Leads.
A majority of your work will be carried out at Thales premises in Lancaster with travel to client sites, which will be approx. 2- 3 days per week, therefore, flexibility to travel and work at other locations is essential.

You will have a systems engineering background and understand all aspects of hardware and software engineering as well as having a good understanding of software development lifecycles.
You will have significant experience within a multi-disciplined engineering team in a leadership role together with the ability to convey complex technical issues to others. You will have a good understanding of the application of hardware and software through the full lifecycle (V model) from elicitation of customer requirement through to formal acceptance at customer sites, including integration and verification testing. You will have the ability to review and verify comprehensive documentation for the design and test of hardware and software, run technical meetings and provide reports is essential.
You will have the ability to analyse complex technical problems and offer innovative, reasoned and practical solutions and be able to set clear team objectives and goals. Self-motivated, innovative with the ability to build strong lasting relationships with both internal and external customers together with being flexible and able to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines is essential
