Job purpose
As Individual contributor, he/she is responsible for sourcing of Software and System Engineering services for Thales global needs and for engineering Off-shore development center as well.
Duties and responsibilities
 Implements Thales Purchasing policy applied in his/her Category (target suppliers, strategic suppliers, contracts and framework agreements negotiated, etc.) and communicates this to requesting parties
 Takes into account Purchasing needs and rationalizing them under the Category Strategy
 Puts the Suppliers in competition with one another, in line with the Category Policy and applies the Acquisition process
 Negotiates pricing & acquisition conditions
 Manages consultation documents (RFQ) and calls for tender: formatting on call for tender tools, mailing, bid receipt, traceability, questions, oral presentations, report monitoring, reminders calls
 Manages contracts, NDA (confidentiality agreement) and framework agreements: creation and monitoring of versions, reviews, approval flowchart and signatures, summary sheet, archiving, distribution and Purchasing contract reference base management, internal communication,
 Keeps Purchasing data up to date in the information systems and guarantees their integrity
 Ensures that Suppliers deliver on their contract commitments and tracks their performance
 Provides the information needed for Acquisition forecasts and related requirements, in order to improve the strategy and to ensure better globalization
 Handles disputes with Suppliers
 Creates Purchasing orders in the information system, in line with the terms/contracts negotiated
 Tracks delivery with suppliers (reminders, disputes, receipt tracking, invoicing), identifies risks of non-fulfilment and alerts stakeholders
 Summs up the information needed to assess suppliers’ operational performance
Qualifications
 This position will be based out of Bangalore.
 Individual should have worked in global procurement role for engineering services
 The individual should have good knowledge on various outsourcing models prevalent in the industry
 Have a thorough understanding of Software & Systems Engineering fundamental concepts, engagement models & right effort estimation tools and models.
 Has good exposure in negotiating global contracts, Global Procurement process and eRFX systems
 Exposure to Aerospace, Defence and other Industrial engineering practices will be highly preferred
 Has the ability to do individually steer price/contract negotiation and resolving disputes
 Ability to draft statements of work and challenge technical offerings
 Self-motivated /self-starter with ability to work independently and in team environment
 Strong oral and written communication skills with experience in influencing others
 Bachelors or Masters/MBA (preferred) with 8-12 years of tactical sourcing & vendor management experience
