Master Scheduler/Inventory Manager

We are currently looking for a Master Scheduler/Inventory Manager to join Thales in Irvine, CA. The Master Scheduler/Inventory Manager plays a key role facilitating Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SI&OP) cycles in conjunction with S&OP and Materials Management. This position develops and implements production build and material forecasting strategies to support Manufacturing Operations and meet customer demand while optimizing inventories. As an output of the SIOP process, the Master Scheduler develops and loads a Master Production Schedule (MPS) and schedules high level Manufacturing Operations across multiple sites to meet business objectives.
This position will lead monthly cross-functional meetings to collaborate, establish and measure production and inventory targets by month for a rolling 24-month period and is responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the MPS and coordinating build plans and execution with Planning.
Responsible for the creation of the rough-cut capacity plan leveraging MPS. Establishes understanding of where excess or capacity gaps in the current plan
Maintains planning parameters ensuring completeness and accuracy for planning purposes
Provides focus on inventory at-risk and flags the impact of decisions to leadership and drives continuous improvement
Understands what has changed from month-to-month and captures the underlying risks and assumptions contained within
Prepares the materials for the supply review and facilitates (Input/Output)
Ensures adherence to the monthly cycle, holding all those providing inputs accountable to their defined roles and responsibilities
Provides direction on standard agendas and behaviors
Facilitator of the supply, resource S&OP review
Drives continuous improvement in the cycle
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with minimum 8-12+ years of relevant experience in Demand, Supply or Sales & Operations Planning or Master’s degree in related field with 6+ years of relevant experience 3 – 5 years of people leadership experience
Experience coaching developing and mentoring Team members.
Experience in leading Supply Chain Oracle/SAP implementation projects.
Ability to hold team members and colleagues accountable to departmental commitments.
SAP Enterprise Resource Planning experience
Experience with S&OP process and objectives
Experience creating and presenting written and oral communications
Experience with key business functions such as Supply Chain, Planning, Sales & Marketing/Commercial, Finance, Production etc.
Experience with BI tools capability such as Oracle/SAP BI, Tableau
Experience using Microsoft Office management tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project programs as an integral part of day-to-day activity and l to perform analysis and report generation required to support management and decision-making activities.
APICS Certification preferable
Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent Lean problem solving skills preferred.
Procurement/Supply Chain Management experience in the Aerospace, Airline and/or Electronics industry is preferred.
Excellent time management and organizational skills as this position has high time demands and pressures and requires incumbent to effectively prioritize, juggle, and manage numerous projects, initiatives, problem-solving, and decision-making activities.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and engage S&OP participants including Engineering, Operations, Quality etc.
