Within the Engineering cluster the applications department is responsible for the development of combat and information management systems for navy ships, integration with sensor- and weapon systems as well as the development of sensor processing applications. These complex systems contain advanced solutions for information processing, information management and the user interaction with both sensor- and weapon systems. Our product offers essential support for missions varying from anti-piracy to ballistic missile defense.

As a Network engineer you will be part of the Network and Middleware Agile team. This team designs, develops and tests the network capabilities for the combat management systems, the radar systems and the optical sensor systems. The team is responsible for the entire development chain – requirements analysis, development, testing, validation and demonstrating the current status of the product. Thales highly values the application of modern technologies and methodologies.

You are a talented engineer that enjoys specifying, developing and testing complex networks. The network is part of the sensor and information management systems aboard navy ships. Relevant technologies and product lines include Cisco, Linux & Python. An expert level understanding of networking equipment by several vendors is important for successfully fulfilling the role. Knowledge of configuration management tooling (e.g. Ansible) and additional programming languages (e.g. C, C++) is preferred.
You hold a bachelor or master degree in computer science, IT service management, system & network engineering or comparable. Your colleagues are recognized experts in the field and will help you get up to speed and Thales will gladly invest in your development.
An important requirement to fulfil this role is flexibility and the ability to communicate efficiently in English to all types (technical, management) of stakeholders.
