Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Procurement – Service Centre Procurement Planner/Buyer

What you’ll be doing

You will be working within the Service Centre Procurement Team, purchasing requirements, for in house and Subcontract Repairs and direct purchase Spares. Your role will be about ensuring that all requirements are delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality. You will be providing information to the Service Centre on the status of item availability for Spares and progress of Subcontract Repairs, including updates on forecast deliveries, pricing, Repair and Survey Reports.
This position is critical to providing a high level of service to our customers and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that internal and external targets are met through the tight control of supplier performance and adherence to procedure.

The Programme

Through our higher apprenticeship you’ll be making the most of your talents, getting to understand procurement from the ground up; and doing so with the help of a leading global organisation.
As a procurement apprentice you will be working towards your CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply, alongside a full time role within our procurement function. CIPS is the professional body for procurement and is an internally recognised institution within the industry.

This 2 year programme will allow you to apply your CIPS learning to the workplace and gain a breadth of experience, working alongside procurement professionals. You will attend 5 block weeks of training in Year 1, with Year 2 focussed predominately on your work based portfolio. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there will be scope for progression onto the Level 5 and Level 6 CIPS qualifications.

This opportunity is in Crawley, within the Central Operations manufacturing business.


Who we’re looking for
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are motivated, committed and keen to learn. A self-starter who is able to manage their time, show initiative and has a genuine interest in finance and Thales. Successful candidates will show self-discipline and an aspiration to achieve the CIPS qualification.

You will also need

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C or Level 5 and above, including Maths and English
  • 3 A Levels Grade A-C or equivalent Level 3 qualifications in relevant discipline
  • Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the programme
