As a vital member of the global Business Development team, the Business Development Solutions Engineer is primarily responsible for communicating the technical value of Thales solutions to prospective Thales Technology Partners as well as working with the partners on integrating Thales security solutions with their applications. The individual will also provide support to the Business Development team in defining strategies for successful partner integrations of Thales security solutions in a broad range of applications and provide support to the Thales SE community on technology partner integrations and tools.

Essential Functions

  • Create global processes and provide oversight of the Thales CPL technology partner programs, technical integration & standards of performance
  • Manage overall partner technical planning and execution, in partnership with regional Business Development (BD) & Sales Engineer (SE) Managers including POCs and integration documents
  • Participate in BD planning & Sales/ strategy meetings with internal stakeholders and partners
    • Exchange field learnings to/ from the Thales teams
  • Maintain a high degree of technical awareness of applications requiring security, competitors, and trends in the marketplace:
    • Guide the BD team on various security related developments directly/ indirectly effecting Thales operations in the security space
    • Represent Thales at various industry conferences & events
  • Training to SE community: Coordinate partner-provided technical training on integrations and provide tools and dashboards around technology partnership needed by the Thales SE community
  • Study Technology Partner applications/ solutions to understand partner’s business direction and security requirements in order to help them utilize Thales products to deliver a superior solution. Help Partner identify use-case scenarios for the go/ no-go gate for integration opportunities
  • Feedback to internal Thales teams:
    • Product Management: Work closely to identify, evaluate and make technical recommendations regarding strategic product enhancements based on Technology Partner requirements, interoperability testing, market initiatives and new technology. Escalation of new feature requests, coming from new/ existing partners
    • Sales: Advisory responsibilities on product/ solution fit in complex sales opportunities involving third party integrations

Skills, Experience & Education

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a technical customer or partner facing role
  • Minimum 3 years experience in data security, network security, or storage security
  • Ability to apply technical skills to solve complex projects
  • Meticulous and detail oriented with the ability to create documents and tools/processes for knowledge sharing purposes
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Technology related
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
