PreSales Consultant – Identity and Access Management - Benelux

Cloud Protection Licencing

Join Thales’ Cloud Protection Licencing (CPL) division and you will be part of an organisation that creates some of the worlds’ best and most innovative products in the Identity Access Management and Data Protection space. As a Pre-Sales Consultant you will work collaboratively with the Benelux regional sales teams to transform customer requirements into real-world solutions by drawing up on the considerable product knowledge, skill and domain expertise within our CPL Business Line team.

The Pre-Sales Consultant is a critical customer-facing role providing Pre-Sales technical guidance predominantly on Identity, Authentication and Access Management (IAM) technologies such as cloud-based authentication, on-premises authentication solutions and card management systems. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your considerable technical expertise across IAM, whilst building upon your relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills to support our even greater market ambitions in the Benelux region.

The Role

You will be part of a small, specialist Pre-Sales team with specific focus on our Identity and Access Management portfolio. Based in Belgium, the role will primarily be focused on the Benelux territory and will eventually require travel throughout the region (up to 50% of the time), once Covid restrictions are eased. You will be involved in some or all of the following activities:

  • Working closely with the Benelux sales team to respond to channel partner and customer enquiries for our solutions.
  • Supporting the analysis and review of customer requirements to gather information on their use-case, application environment and data flows in order to fully understand their needs.
  • Active involvement in the Proof of Concept phase of sales engagements, providing hands-on assistance and advice on configuration or customization to fully realise the customer solutions
  • Providing integration advice across a range of 3rd-party applications, interfaces, features and APIs which our products connect with.

What we are looking for in you?

Identity, Access Management and Cryptography underpin everything that we do and so the more you understand about that, the better. Any experience in the wider field of data protection and cyber security is a benefit, but not necessarily mandatory. We are more than happy to help you to get familiar with our products and provide you with all the knowledge that you need for your day-to-day work. Some skills and experience that are definitely of interest include:

  • Experience with Identity Protection, Authentication solutions or other Identity Management and Security products and solutions (Access management, single sign-on, identity federation, etc.)

  • Ideally some understanding of Cryptography and Security concepts –including PKI, digital signatures, certificates, OpenID Connect, SAML, Card management systems etc.

  • Other experience with Identity & Access Management solutions (trust and assurance, Identity Governance & Administration, Privileged Access Management) are would be a distinct advantage, but there is scope to develop this knowledge as part of your role.

  • Experience with network security-as-a-service in some form would be a plus (any one or more of software defined perimeter, software defined networks, software defined WANs, SASE-secure access service edge)

  • Familiarity with large enterprise organization structures, buyer personas, consumer personas and needs for security technologies (application, data, network security)
