Field marketing function builds and executes the market strategy to support regional business goals for Thales North America, Banking and Payment business line.

As a product expert in the region, the Field Marketing Associate in Austin, Texas, drives product strategy for the region through product choice, price, channel and promotions. As a market owner, the FM associate partners with sales and product marketing to develop strategies to enable sales and drive growth. In conjunction with the account management team, Field marketing is the voice of the customer and the market within the organization and the voice of the company to customers and industry players.

Key Responsibilities:

In conjunction with the account management team:

  • Must build growth strategies for the assigned region/set of customers which includes but not limited to product choice, price tactics, value propositions and promotions

  • Will be responsible for all customer proposals including RFPs

  • Must promote the company and products at customer meetings and events through expert discussions and presentations

In conjunction with controlling:

  • Will be responsible for Profit & Loss analysis for all deals and the respective internal approvals

  • Will be required to build data models to size the market, analyze competition and estimate market share

  • Will be required to lead the justification for capital investment and new product developments to facilitate strong market position in NORAM

  • Provide input to identifying customer targets, build promotion plans and measure progress against targets

  • Partner with Marketing Communications and Product Marketing to capitalize on social media presence for the region and create relevant print and digital content

  • Ensure regional marketing needs are effectively communicated to central product marketing thus enabling a roadmap that serves the future needs of the region

Required Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3 years marketing or pre-sales experience in a customer facing, technology environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or business

  • Proven ability to influence in a matrix environment and function effectively across cross functional teams

  • Strong attention to detail with at least 3 years’ experience facilitating multiple marketing/ pre-sales programs

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, build and present data-driven decisions

  • Prior experience to build and justify capital expenditure and profit & loss analysis of prospective deals/contracts based on requirement, cost, selling price etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence multiple stakeholders with excellent communication skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in creating content for technology presentations, webinars, blogs etc and support customer and industry meetings/events through panel discussions and presentations

  • Previous experience of enabling sales readiness for technology products, including value proposition, product positioning and pricing proving a good understanding of the sales process

Travel: 25% domestic travel with occasional international travel

This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) [AND] the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  All applicants must be eligible, or able to obtain authorization, for such access.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in marketing, field marketing or other relevant marketing roles

  • Experience in the banking /payment and fintech sectors

  • Strong knowledge of the payments industry with affiliations to related industry forums

  • Good understanding of basic finance. A certification in basic finance is a plus.

  • Prior technical/software development or support
