Thales enjoys a long-standing presence in the United States and Canada. It is a local player there, in step with its clients, and can thus respond to their needs as effectively as possible.
Argentina
Thales has been present in Argentina for 30 years now, mainly in air traffic control, naval and air force activities. In 1999, the company broke into the IT services market through a subsidiary which now employs 280 people. In 2007, our position in Argentina was reinforced by the transfer of Alcatel's activities in the fields of security, transportation and space.
Brazil
Thales in Brazil currently employs over 200 people in various locations.
Canada
Thales Canada maintains centres of excellence that market civil and defence technology solutions worldwide and domestically. Employing 1200 people, sites are located in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Halifax. Thales has been in Canada for the past 26 years. Annual sales average C$300M (2006).
Chile
Thales has operated in Chile since 1968, employing around 70 people. Thales serves the country's civil aviation authority and armed forces as well as a number of urban transport operators.
Mexico
Thales has been working in Mexico for 30 years and currently employs about 100 people through its Security Services & Solutions division. Based in Mexico Federal District since June 2007, the D3S Integration Centre is supplying a range of advanced integrated solutions in the ground transportation, energy, aerospace and homeland security sectors.
United States
Thales generates approximately 10% of its revenues in the United States and its US operations employ around 3,000 people (including joint ventures).
Venezuela
Thales has been present in Venezuela for 30 years both in defence and civil domains. Our operations in Venezuela include Compania General de Automatismo which currently employs more than 50 people and our subsidiary dedicated to transportation systems, which has over 70 people.
