All Thales Divisions have extended their business lines into China, where Thales has become the market leader in such products or solutions as Air Traffic Control, Radar, Satellites, Avionics, Security in transport and E-banking (Hong Kong) and medical imaging. Thales has gained a solid foothold in the air transport market, supplying integrated air traffic control centres at Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou airports. The company has also been selected by Sichuan Airlines to supply and support training equipment for Airbus A320 aircraft. We also provide technical and operational support on avionics and IFE products for local airlines.

In the Security sector, Thales is playing an active role in the major programme to upgrade the country's urban transport infrastructure and has installed metro security and ticketing systems in several of China's largest cities.

Wing Lung Bank, one of the most established banks in Hong Kong, has deployed Thales's SafeSign two-factor authentication for its online banking system.

The joint venture set up in 1996 with Shanghai Medial Instruments is now the leading manufacturer of medical imaging components in the local market. Thales Alenia Space is also the only foreign supplier of satellites to China.
