Thales has been present in Venezuela for 30 years both in defence and civil domains. Our operations in Venezuela include Compania General de Automatismo which currently employs more than 50 people and our subsidiary dedicated to transportation systems, which has over 70 people.

Business Operations
In septembre 2008, Thales' teams won a contract with Odebrecht to equip the first line of the Caracas Metrocable with secure integrated systems, after having equipped the four lines of the underground metro. Thales will supply the telecommunication, energy, radio, intrusion control and revenue collection systems.
A good insight of Thales' defense activities in Venezuela is given by its providing the Navy with radar, naval communications and combat systems.
