Marie Curie fellowships

Our research department offers Marie Curie Fellowships, awarded by the European Community, which enables young professionals a post-graduate of post doctoral research position, where he or she can explore the world of applied research in an industrial and commercial environment. The fellows performing this research will become experts in a relevant field of study and will get the opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary teams and publish various articles. The fellowship is an ideal introduction to a possible future career in the industry. If the fellowship is completed successfully, thereââ'¬â"¢s the opportunity to make a offer for a permanent research position within Thales.

There are various projects you can work on as a Systems Engineer at Thales Netherlands, such as customized realtime distributed systems and many subsystems, radar, sonar and communication networks, control and command systems and application software that is being integrated into complex security systems.

System Engineers are technically accountable for the overall architecture of a system. At the beginning of your career you will be responsable for a specific subsystem or for the integration of the subsystems.

Volonta

The student union Volonta was founded by Thales Nederland to stimulate the contacts between the company and her trainees and graduates and also amongst trainees and graduates themselves. Volonta enhances the enjoyment of your traineeship or graduation. Volonta organizes field trips and other activities. To name a few: field trips to the Royal Navy in Den Helder, Twente airport or the Grolsch brewery, but also activities as laser questing, carting or social get togethers in one of Hengelo's many bars.

Thales Netherlands can be found recruiting on several Job Fairs every year as well as on the Business Days of all the technical universities. For every student association it is possible to visit our plants. Please get in touch with us and we will organize a customized programme.

The complex global environment in which Thales operates requires companies to comply with increasingly stringent standards and assume a growing responsibility for their business practices.

Our terms of employment not only include a good salary, but also a wide range of training and development tools, encouraging employees to develop skills and competencies. For example, as a recent bachelor or master graduate you have a starting salary between Euro 25.000,- and 30.000,- with annual pay raises depending on your own performance. Subject to the relevant guidelines, employees can be paid a bonus at the end of the year. Employees are also given the opportunity to participate in the Salary/Savings Scheme. On top of that we have our very own beneficiary pension fund.

You have flexible working hours and it is also up to you to decide about your number of holidays. Your standard is 38 days off, and you can either buy or sell up to 10 days. You can use your profit for example for extra education, fitness or day care.
